Best Streaming Format for Churches

With everyone having broadband there is not one reason why any church should not be streaming their sermons. So you understand that streaming sermons are a relevant communication channel today, but how do you stream your sermons. Which format is best for you to deliver your sermons to the millions that are online. This is a simple and logical answer, Flash.

It really does not matter if you are streaming Video or Audio. You want to stream them with Flash. IF you are streaming video then the .flv format is the way to go. For Audio mp3 works just fine with flash.

  1. Google uses flash
  2. Youtube uses flash
  3. Fox News uses flash
  4. ABC, NBC, CBS uses flash
  5. Pure Streams has been using flash
  6. Streaming For Jesus has been using flash
  7. Our competitors are now starting to use flash
  8. Flash is on 98% of browsers world wide

Adobe® Flash® Player is the world's most pervasive software platform, reaching 98% of Internet-enabled desktops in mature markets as well as a wide range of devices. Flash is a light weight component that is already built into your web browser. Take a look at how Flash stacks up against the rest: Source Numbers:

Player Spread Size Formats
Flash Player 98.7 % 1.31 MB FLV
Windows Media Player 11 83.7 %24 MB WMV,AVI,MP4,MPG
Quicktime Player 67.6 % 32.30 MB MOV,MPG,MP4
Real Player 54.7 %8.08 MB RM,RAM,AVI,MPG

Now you can see why all the big names are going with the flash solution over any other media player. Not only is it fast but its convenient. Its convenient for the fact its on almost every computer in the world. Not to mention it will play in any web browser so you don't neglect any operating systems (Linux, Windows, Macs)

This is vital when sending the Gospel out to the nations as you were commissioned too. Why?

  1. People in other countries may not have a particular player installed. Or they have a different operating system such as Linux, which does not have windows media player, but with flash, its built into the web browser.
  2. Some countries like China block specific file formats. So if you have a message in a windows file format they can block it. But with flash they think its a simple flash file, thus the Gospel is breaking down walls and being heard in China via flash file format.
  3. Some companies here in the U.S. Take all media players out of their employee's computers. However; companies do not take flash out which allows the Gospel to flow into the work place.

Another reason to use flash over other file formats is the fact you can customize the media player to better fit your ministry. Try that with any other media player.

Flash is easy to install and update.

  1. Flash is standard in all web browsers now
  2. Flash updates its self automatically
  3. You don't have to register to install flash
  4. You don't have to give your email address with flash

So as you can see flash has far more benefits then any other format to stream the precious Gospel of Jesus Christ to the nations. With all the major companies using flash, flashes ability to break down barriers. The question I impose on you. Why aren't you streaming?
